Phil
Phil has always had a love of singing and has been performing since an early age, playing guitar and percussion, as well as singing in many bands. He is also an accomplished motivational speaker and humourist, award winning script and songwriter as well as a dynamic MC, speaker and presenter.
Phil has always enjoyed singing and working out harmonies and was exposed to many of the great vocal harmony bands of the 60’s and 70’s including The Beatles, America, The Eagles, The Bee Gees and many others.
So when the opportunity came along to be part of ‘Sounds of the Seventies’ he jumped at the chance and is now enjoying playing rhythm guitar and singing lead vocals of all the songs he has always loved!

Russ
During the 70’s Russ played guitar on radio and television, in recording sessions and in about every sort of live gig going. Qualifying as a music teacher and continuing his enthusiasm for live performance has made music his life’s passion.
He has trained on numerous instruments from classical to current but guitar has always been the one, and blues has always been his strongest influence.

Flip
Philip (Flip) Setton has been playing music all his life. Growing up in a house with 2 drummers meant band rehearsal was a regular occurrence and the music of the 60s and 70s came with it. With a taste for this era, he has taken to this gig like a duck to water, filling the necessary parts of 2nd keys, 3rd guitar, background vocals and hair.
Philip has previously musically directed shows for JYM theatre co and worked in studios for musicians from a variety of genres. When not on stage he is an acoustic engineer, where he attempts to make the world a nicer-sounding place, usually by making less sound, not more.
Philip hopes you enjoy spending some time reminiscing about a fantastic era of music even if, like him, you were too young to actually be in it.

Jack
Jack has been playing drums since being captivated by The Beatles in the mid 1960s.
Since then, he has played in bands covering many musical styles including rock, jazz, R and B, and folk. He has performed in concerts, musical theatre productions and many corporate and private functions. The 70s were the defining period in his musical journey.
“There were so many wonderful bands and songwriters throughout that period; it was inspiring to be part of it as I learnt my musical rudiments. In the 70s I also enjoyed my first experiences in recording studios, and have loved being in that environment ever since”
Jack has a broad and diverse musical taste and when not cycling or sailing, spends much of his time as a sound engineer and music producer, working with other musicians and song writers at his recording studio, Mad Cat Sound www.madcatsound.com.au.
He is excited to be part of this 70s show, bringing a range of wonderful songs for the public to remember and enjoy.

Pete
Peter has been playing Bass for 15 years. He commenced on rudimentary bass in his early 20’s (with no prior music theory or experience on guitar) to assist a young post punk / ska band & then stopped playing to start a family. He considers himself a passionate bass guitarist with over 10 years on the live circuit starting out with Blues, Rock, Pop & filling in for his sons bands on originals and covers. Have been fortunate to play in more than ten bands over the 10 yrs. He is also involved with Australia’s number 1 Bee Gees Tribute show ‘Night Fever’ and Melbourne originals Ska band “No Nonsense” from the 80’s.

“Wow – 2 of my favourite performers! A great combo and a great band!”
“Does the songs more than justice and the 2 singers really work hard to re-create the powerhouse vocals of Joe and Linda!”
“If you’re looking for a show that takes you back to the great songs of the 70’s and 80’s by 2 big voices – this is it!”
